Born in Trabzon, Derya Erturk obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Management. Soon after the completion of her bachelor’s degree, she moved to the UK, London. During her stay in the UK in 2005-2011, she worked for London College Wimbledon and SI-UK (Study in the UK), holding administrative and marketing positions in these companies whilst being an Education Consultant as well. As a result of her wide experience in the education sector and consulting students, Derya established her own Educational Consulting agency named Ocean Education, where she cooperated closely with universities and schools in England. During her stay in the UK, she also completed her master’s degree (MBA) at the University of Wales in the area of International Business and Management.
Between 2011-2016, she worked as an International Partnership Manager in different departments: International and Turkish Marketing, International Operations, and International and Turkish Accreditations at a private university in Northern Cyprus. Moreover, she has also held a job at universities’ UK campuses for about a year. She took an active role and participated in international marketing activities such as education exhibitions, fairs and seminars, and travelled to many countries on business. Between 2016-2017, Derya lived in the Netherlands and took part in some volunteering jobs coordinated by the local municipality, a film festival and a local choir organised by Turkish Associations. She also held various administrative positions in the American company called Monsanto and the German origin company Bayer between 2017-2021.
Currently, she works as a lecturer in the Communication Design and Management department at the Faculty of Communication at ARUCAD.
