Elham Etemadi is an Associate Professor at the Art Faculty of ARUCADUniversity. Her previous affiliations were the Hunan Normal University in China, and Azad University in Iran. She did her PhD in Art History at the University of Leuven, and her MA in Advanced Art Studies at the University of Tehran. Her articles have been published in different academic journals in English, Farsi and Chinese. Her research is positioned at the intersections of Iranian Arts of the early-modern and modern eras, iconology, book illustration, comparative (visual) narrative, gender representation and its historical transformation and cultural sociology. She was an Erasmus Visiting Scholar at University of Pitesti (2019), and was awarded the Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation (IRO) full PhD fellowship at University of Leuven (2011-2015), as well as a travel and conference grants to present her research at Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient (2022), Stanford University (2011), etc.
