She graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture Department of Horticulture in 1968. From 1967 to 1968 she worked as English-German-Turkish translator at a private engineering company. From 1968 to1969 she served as a research assistant at Ministry of Agriculture in Ankara. From June 1969 to September 1971 she worked as science teacher and Head of Science Department St. John’s Regional School Australia. After coming back to Turkey until July 1972 worked for Ankara Municipality Department of Parks and from 1972 to 1977 Research and Teaching Assistant at Ankara University Department of Landscape Architecture. She completed her Ph.D. in 1977 and continued working at the same department. After becoming associate professor, she served the same department, but also worked for Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Departments of Architecture and Town and Country Planning from 1982 to 1988. In 1988 she was appointed as full professor. From December 1989 to December 1995 she served as Head of the Department-Ankara University Department of Landscape Architecture where she established AUTOCAD and GIS labs. From 1988 to 1996 she was responsible of coordinating international relations of Ankara University. In 1991 acted as Network Director and Coordinator of EC MED-CAMPUS Project #147. In 1992 she worked for the Distance Education in Asia and Pacific Project (by Nime Japan). She received Soka University (Japan) Honorary Award, 24/06/1992 for her contributions. 1993-1995 she worked as Local Director of Environmental Management Master Degree Program (EC-MED-CAMPUS Project #B349). 1996 retired from Ankara University and continued working in EU and CIHEAM projects. From 2009 to 2016 she worked for Department of Landscape Architecture North Cyprus. From 2021 she is among the academic staff of Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design in North Cyprus. Currently she is working as reviewer for some academic journals, mostly Elsevier’s Ecological Indicators. She has several international publications especially in the fields of environment, ecology, sustainability.
