ARUCAD Faculty of Design’s academician Cem Yardımcı’s exhibition called Draftabout will be open on the 14th of November 2019, Thursday at ARUCAD Art Space.
In this exhibition, we encounter with the cases generated by examination of different materials by the sketches, yet instead of the solution suggested by design, the focus is placed on the nonrepresentational texture of the suggestion. The resulting images take the form of dress patterns.
As a result of the ongoing process, an imaginary environment has been created that is articulated with drafts and is developed by suggestions. Some design approaches are represented in sections under the name of mimicsin this environment. Yardımcı, questions architectural bodies and the notions of movement within the scope of its research and studies. The phenomenon of design is considered namely as architectural convulsions.
The exhibition can be visited until 18nd of December during Mon-Fri 13:30 – 17:30, Sat 10:30 – 13:30.
About Exhibition
Everyone, everybody has a season of its own. Their ideas and drafts can only yield fruit in their own seasons. What you find pursuing in drafts, the frame of mind that you are in the pursuit, is the fifth season. The fifth season.

Studies on the relationship between body and topography transform into sections of islands between the mountain and the sea. Each study aims to analyse alienation from different angles.
Who is Mustafa Cem Yardımcı?
Cem Yardımcı, under the concept of Architectural Reflex, explores the existence of a combination of theory / practice and architecture / video. He aims to bring together diverse mix media and technologies in architectural design, audio and video performance studies. In this process, he searches for the language of technology emerging through the act of performance; while nesting the idea-practice of ‘open source’.
Having completed his undergraduate, master and doctorate studies at the Faculty of Architecture of Istanbul Technical University, Cem Yardımcı has served as a project director in various universities and as a jury member in national and international competitions. In addition to his research, Yardımcı has awarded short films that he realized and directed. He is currently working as head of Department of Architecture at ARUCAD Faculty of Design.
