This month’s guest of the Voices talk series in ARUCAD Art Space is the editor of Gazeddapod, Hasan Yıkıcı. You are invited to this conversation, titled Podcast Publishing in the North of Cyprus. The talk will be held in Turkish.
Gazeddapod was launched in January as a podcast network for the first time in Cyprus. Apart from the mainstream media, Gazeddapod started podcast broadcasting in order to create an alternative and make use of the digital technologies in order to amplify the voices of those who are involved in today’s new media. Podcast publishing can described as a means for reaching people with sound. The fact that it is in digital media, and that it requires minimal creativity which be listened to in any place at any time can be considered as features and advantages of podcast publishing.
At a time when digital technologies are evolving and new potentials are being raised digital media, podcasting stands as a promising area where a large and rich potential can be realized.
Who is Hasan Yıkıcı?
Born in Lefke, Yesilyurt in 1987, he graduated from the Department of Journalism of EMU Communication Faculty in 2011. He worked for the newspapers Havadis, Afrika, Gazete360, Cyprus Post and Yenidüzen. He is currently employed at DEV-İŞ (Federation of Reformist Labour Unions). He also prepares the podcast titled “News from Nowhere” and is the founder and editor of Gazeddapod.
