IN MEMORY OF RESEARCHER, WRITER, AND ARCHAEOLOGIST TUNCER BAĞIŞKAN
“DETAILS FROM OUR HISTORY” COMPETITION

OBJECTIVE

Researcher, writer, and archaeologist Tuncer Bağışkan stands as one of the most distinguished figures cultivated by our nation. He has conducted and published invaluable research concerning the culture, history, and archaeology of Cyprus. By adhering to rigorous scientific standards, he has meticulously documented and disseminated our historical and cultural heritage, thereby ensuring its global recognition and preservation.

The Turkish Cypriot Education Foundation has published two seminal works by researcher, writer, and archaeologist Tuncer Bağışkan. These publications represent the first of their kind in our country and have successfully introduced our architectural heritage, which is part of the world’s cultural legacy, to the realm of scholarly publishing.

In collaboration with KTEV and ARUCAD, a competition entitled “DETAILS FROM OUR HISTORY” was organized to highlight and commemorate Tuncer Bağışkan’s significant contributions to Cypriot culture. This initiative aimed to preserve his legacy by integrating the arts of ceramics, sketching, and photography—disciplines closely associated with the field of archaeology—thereby enriching and reinforcing his enduring impact on the cultural heritage of Cyprus.
