5th ARUCAD HIGH SCHOOL DESIGN COMPETITION

‘THE STORY OF A LINE’

Competition Theme:

Every painting and drawing starts with a line or a mark of some sort. that line then goes on to create a story, a narrative of expression which then becomes a drawing or a painting. Ideas are intangible until we put them down physically on to a canvas. The final art work maybe complex and intricate but it almost always starts from an idea put down on paper with a simple stoke of a pencil or a brush. “The story of a line” competition aims to encourage the youth to convey their creative process and to take us on their adventure of discovery and expression. May it be abstraction or realism, figurative or conceptual. each artist is unique, and they have their own way of expressing and telling a story. take us on “your” art adventure and into your world of creation. Just remember the process of creating (the way you tell your story) is as important as the final art work itself.

As Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD), we are looking for an answer to this question through the eyes of young people, and we have organised the “THE STORY OF A LINE” competition, as a design competition, between high schools in order to reveal the creative perspectives of the young generation and to bring them new artistic visions.
