“The Abyssal Zone”
Plastic Arts Department
ARUCAD 2022 Graduation Exhibition
Venue: Kyrenia Public Library
Opening: Saturday, June 25, 2022
The ‘Abyssal Zone’ is one of the sea layers 3000 to 6000 metres below the surface and covering 83% of the total area of the oceans, where there is no light, high pressure and insufficient food sources, but which nonetheless is full of life. In her solo exhibition, the artist brings to light the fascinating creatures of this region. It creates a new world where the dark is in the light and the inaccessible places are accessible. In addition to all these, it also aims to draw attention to issues such as overfishing, plastic pollution and climate change that our planet and oceans are experiencing.
