Tülay Pirgalıoğlu’s works were prepared with the ‘Chiaroscuro’ technique, which uses lighting developed by the Italian Baroque master Caravaggio. The works she planned by taking photographs of her garden, which is a source of calmness and serenity for Pirgalıoğlu, represent the different life stages an organism’s experiences. Citrus trees, in particular, which she used extensively in her works, represent Pirgalıoğlu’s homeland. Inspired by masters such as Rubens and Caravaggio, the artist’s works aim are in the impressionist style. The artist also aims to communicate with and inspire the audience with a three-dimensional sculpture she prepared by shaping clay.
