Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) issued a call on the occasion of World Art Day, celebrated each year on April 15th, toemphasise the global importance of art and artists.
On Friday, April 14th, ARUCAD provided materials at Girne Harbour under the title ‘If I Were an Artist…’, enabling the public to express themselves artistically. The call made by ARUCAD is as follows:
“Art is both a form of expression and a process of creation. In this process, the most important thing is to constantly experiment and find the best way to express oneself. We invite you to be a part of this process on World Art Day and explore your own means of expression. Breaking out of moulds and trying to see from different perspectives are fundamental goals of art. ARUCAD, as the arts university of the city, is taking to the streets to remember the presence and importance of art in every aspect of our lives and to ‘experiment’ together fearlessly and freely. We are excited to emphasise the value of art in public spaces and reflect its participatory aspect through collaboration. We invite you to reveal the artist within you.”
