A protocol was signed between Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and Girne Municipality on the use of municipal social spaces.
A protocol was signed to improve the educational, social, cultural and sports activities of students studying at the university, to strengthen their sense of social responsibility and volunteering as well as to increase and support cooperation in order to contribute to the personal development of young people with the education they will receive during higher education. The protocol was signed by Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü and ARUCAD’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Sinan Arkin.
Güngördü: Universities are very important in urban life
Pointing out the importance of universities in cities, Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü stated that they took ARUCAD’s proposal of cooperation to the city council with the aim of enabling the use of municipal social, sports and cultural facilities in cooperation with the University.
Güngördü stated that they have signed a protocol with ARUCAD officials after discussing the offer in the city council. “This cooperation is very important to us. We aim to ensure that the public spaces that exist in the city are used with proper discipline by everyone. I attach great importance to this issue both on behalf of myself and my city council members. Students and universities are very important in urban life. I attach great importance to ARUCAD’s activities and exhibitions in terms of art and culture. Therefore, I express that I am happy to cooperate with them.”
Arkin: A bright start for the future
ARUCAD’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Sinan Arkin stated that Girne Municipality attaches great importance to culture and art activities as well as infrastructure works, and continued to say “with this cooperation, art will spread to the city and a bright start was made for the future.” Expressing that this mutual cooperation is very important for both the University and Kyrenia, Arkin thanked President Güngördü.
