ARUCAD has been unanimously accepted as a member by the Board of Directors of the International Design Council ICo-D (International Council of Design).
ARUCAD Vice Rector for International and Social Relations Assist. Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç, in his statement on the subject, stated that the membership of the International Design Council is an important step towards global recognition and added that ICo-D has many member universities over a wide area. Stating that ICo-D plays an important role in the fields of design, art, communication and culture, Dalkılıç said, “With ICo-D membership, ARUCAD has taken an important step towards internationalisation, both academically and institutionally.”
What is ICo-D?
ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) stands out as an international non-governmental organisation founded in London in 1963 and currently headquartered in Montreal, Canada. Founded as the International Council of Graphic Design Associations, ICOGRADA changed its name to the International Design Council (ICo-D) in 2014. ICo-D is the largest and most prestigious representative of professional designer organisations in the world. Member organisations create a high-level network on the leading role design plays in society, culture and the economy, creating a common voice for the global design community. ICo-D, which is a member of distinguished universities in Europe, Asia and America, has 121 members from 47 countries.
