In collaboration with Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and The Arkın İskele Hotel, an open call has been announced for a design competition titled “Adventure Mountain.” The purpose of the competition is to create a special play area for children through the collaboration between ARUCAD and The Arkın İskele Hotel. Designers are invited to participate in the competition to create an innovative and interactive gaming environment. The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2024.
While ARUCAD and The Arkın İskele Hotel aim to create an interdisciplinary collaboration between professional employees, ARUCAD students and graduates and the hotel industry, they further aim to develop innovative and interactive environments and products that appeal to different age groups and contain up-cycled/recycled materials. With this collaboration, ARUCAD, Arkın Group and The Arkın İskele attach importance to supporting graduates at the beginning of their careers, as well as professionals and artist/designer candidates who are continuing their education, who can propose progressive concepts that creatively integrate forward-thinking techniques and sustainability.
Proposals submitted to the “Adventure Mountain” Design Competition will be evaluated with the support of a panel of experts from the fields of art, design, and hospitality. Applicants are required to use 17 large-scale wooden cable reels/wheels to create a safe and sustainable Adventure Mountain Play Area for children.
The overall First Prize for outstanding achievement in the competition is 40,000 TL, and winning projects will benefit from financing, media exposure, sectoral collaboration opportunities, and special awards such as the ARUCAD Concept Design Award. Additionally, the selected designs will be showcased in a designated venue.
