ARUCAD Attended ECOEI’s Senior University Representatives Forum

ARUCAD Vice Rector for International and Social Relations Assist. Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç delivered a speech at the Senior University Representatives Forum held by the European Congress on Economic Issues (ECOEI) on Thursday, September 30.

In the online forum where representatives of universities from TRNC, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan participated as speakers, ARUCAD Deputy Rector for International and Social Relations Asst. Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç delivered a speech on the internal and external institutionalisation process of ARUCAD, which focuses on Art, Design and Communications, and the communication it has developed with its stakeholders.

Beginning his speech on the subject of Cooperation on the Institutionalisation of Higher Education, by considering the perspective of ARUCAD, a newly established art-oriented university, where more than half of its students come from abroad, Asst. Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç said, “As is known, the conjuncture we are in as a university located in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus brings certain economic and accessibility difficulties. However, despite this, the Universities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have been carrying out important work on opening up and institutionalising over the last ten years. I believe that we are also making efforts for the internationalisation of the higher education environment in the country.” Dalkılıç continued by stating that ARUCAD was prepared to cooperate in different concepts in order to support ECOEI’s goal of regional development in higher education.

The overall objective of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation (ECO), an intergovernmental regional organisation comprising countries from Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, the Middle East and South Asia, is the sustainable economic development of its member states and the region as a whole. The Senior University Representatives Forum (ECOEI), which is carried out as an ECO project, continues to work as a high-level education platform where opportunities and challenges for regional cooperation in higher education are discussed, and evaluations are made for the development and globalisation of the existing structures and conditions of participating universities.
