Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) organised the 2nd Education Workshop titled “Education and Success in the New World” for high school teachers in Northern Cyprus, led by Sait Gürsoy. an education author, programme producer, and host, who shared his experiences and success stories with approximately 100 teachers from 16 different high schools, providing an inspiring perspective to educators in his speech.
The Education Workshop Programme commenced with a tour of the ARUCAD campus for teachers, allowing them to explore the workshop, studio, and laboratory environments for students. ARUCAD Rector, Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, continued the programme with a speech, emphasising the university’s mission and vision. Vehbi stated, “We are a university that values practical workshops alongside theoretical knowledge, aiming for our students to get their hands dirty with clay and paint and adopting an interdisciplinary education model.” He added, “Throughout the year, we organise artistic, cultural, and social activities to support the education process, providing our students with the opportunity to showcase their works in end-of-term and graduation exhibitions in our art galleries.” Vehbi also highlighted Craft Created, a store chain aiming to sell handmade products, saying, “We enable our students to exhibit and offer their handmade works produced in printing, glass, ceramics, painting, and sculpture workshops to art enthusiasts, allowing them to generate income.”
After Vehbi’s speech, Sait Gürsoy, who has been an education author for 37 years and has conducted seminars on education and success in high schools and universities for 18 years, delivered his speech. Gürsoy discussed important factors that lead students to success, emphasising what teachers guiding high school students in university selection should pay attention to. Gürsoy predicted that boutique universities preparing students for specific sectors would become more prominent in the future, as well as mentioning the impact of Artificial Intelligence technology on job sectors, where certain areas might disappear while others, such as Communication and New Media, Digital Game Design, and Film Design, would gain importance.
Following Sait Gürsoy’s speech, ARUCAD Rector, Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, presented a certificate of appreciation to Gürsoy, concluding the workshop with a reception prepared for the guests.
