ARUCAD, the only foundation university focused on art, design and communication in Cyprus and the wider region, has received approval from the Higher Education Council (YÖK).
The Higher Education Council (YÖK), has approved the academic programmes of the university. With this approval, ARUCAD’s relevant programmes will be included in the 2020 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), and in the Higher Education Programmes and Quotas Guide and will be able to commence admission of students from the Republic of Turkey.
The Chairman of the ARUCAD Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Arkin Education, Culture and Research Foundation (AREKAV), Dr. Sinan Arkin announced that the foundation process had been completed in May and that the university had been transferred to the Foundation. Arkin stated, “ARUCAD, which began its life as an institute of education in the 2018-2019 Academic Year, is the only subject-oriented university that combines the art, design and communication fields under one roof in both Northern Cyprus and the wider region. ARUCAD, which is equipped with modern educational opportunities in its its state-of-the-art workshops, studios and laboratories, will continue to invest in the island and the region in the coming period. ARUCAD, which began with a vision of being a leading educational institution in the region, is taking firm steps towards the future with the approval of YÖK.”
The Department of Plastic Arts, Photography, Ceramics, Film Design and Management, Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Visual Communication and Design and Media and Communication will be included in the 2020 YKS Higher Education Programmes and Quotas Guide.
Applications for the 2020-2021 Academic Year are open
Due to the pandemic this year, ARUCAD is offering a 75% scholarship guarantee to Turkish citizens who have completed their high school education in the TRNC for 4 years without interruption. Candidates also have the opportunity to increase their scholarships by up to 100%. Applications to all departments of the university are currently in progress.
