A protocol aimed at increasing cooperation in the fields of education, research, and community service was signed between Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and the Cyprus Turkish Education Foundation (KTEV). This agreement aims to strengthen the relationship between both institutions through knowledge sharing and joint activities.
The protocol, signed by ARUCAD Rector, Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi and KTEV Board of Trustees Chairman, Umure Örs, establishes the principles for scientific, social, cultural, artistic, and educational activities to be carried out jointly by both institutions. The protocol envisions collaboration in several areas such as joint research and publications, conferences, seminars, cultural activities, competitions, and exhibitions, in line with mutual agreement and existing resources.
The signing ceremony for the cooperation protocol was attended by ARUCAD Rector, Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice Rector Assist. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç, and Faculty Member of the Plastic Arts Department, Dr. Derya Ulubatlı; Chairman Umure Örs from the KTEV, Board of Trustees, Board Members Semral Öztan, Birgül Beyatlı, Berna Y. Özdoğa, Sibel Sorakın, and General Manager Fehiman Eminer. The agreement aims to encourage knowledge and resource sharing between KTEV and ARUCAD while increasing the academic and social contributions of both institutions. Additionally, opportunities will be provided for professionals from both institutions to share facilities for their professional development.
Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated that this protocol will create significant opportunities for both institutions and pave the way for projects benefiting the community, saying, “We are very excited to sign such a cooperation with the Cyprus Turkish Education Foundation, which supports education, culture, and art in Cyprus. This partnership will bring ARUCAD and KTEV together, allowing us to engage in projects that will contribute to our society. As ARUCAD, we are ready to provide all the support we can to make the best use of this collaboration.”
KTEV Board of Trustees Chairman, Umure Örs, stated that societies rise through culture and art, and added that they were proud to realise this cooperation with ARUCAD, which is a pioneer in this field in Cyprus. Örs emphasised that this collaboration would further advance KTEV’s mission in education and culture, which has been supporting students in need in Northern Cyprus for 30 years through scholarships, course materials, or counselling, and conducting various activities to ensure the development of society in areas such as education, culture, and art, whilst establishing a strong cooperation foundation with ARUCAD.
The activities to be carried out within the scope of this protocol aim to contribute to the development of education and culture in Cyprus while reaching wide audiences and increasing social awareness.
