The 2022 Summer Trainee Exhibition of Atelier Arkın, the Lifelong Education Center of Arkın Creative Arts and Design University (ARUCAD), opened with a cocktail held at Girne Municipality Art Gallery on Tuesday, June 7th.
Operating as ARUCAD’s Lifelong Education Center, Atelier Arkın brought the 2022 Summer Trainee Exhibition together for art lovers with a cocktail held at the Girne Municipality Art Gallery on Tuesday, June 7 at 19.00. Girne Municipality Mayor Nidai Güngördü, ARUCAD Founder Erbil Arkın, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Sinan Arkın, Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi and Atelier Arkın tutors, trainees and the public attended. In the opening speech of the exhibition, ARUCAD Founder Erbil Arkın thanked the mayor for bringing an active art gallery to Kyrenia and said, “I see that the works in the exhibition are moving forward with each passing day. It makes me so happy. I am proud of you. I always want you to continue like this.”
In his speech, Girne Mayor, Nidai Güngördü, said, “If the university integrates with the people of the city, adds added value to the city, embraces the people of the city, brings together beautiful people like you and prepares the ground for the creation of these beautiful works that we will visit soon, then it fulfils its duty of meeting with the people of the city in addition to its academic function. We attach immense importance to this. I hope that by taking inspiration from this in the universities gradually, they will increase the level of involvement that exists in their fields with the people of the city and together we will achieve beautiful things in the city.” Güngördü thanked the tutors, trainees, ARUCAD managers, his colleagues at the Girne Municipality Culture and Art Unit, and the guests who took their time to attend the opening. Güngördü said in his speech, concluding, “Do not be without art. Art overcomes every obstacle”.
Yusuf Baydal, Director of Atelier Arkın, thanked the trainees and ARUCAD instructors, Assist. Prof. Assoc. Dr. Gülgün Elitez, Mümine Özdemirağ Yağlı, Tülay Okan and Yılmaz Kastanbollu who contributed to the emergence of the exhibition, which consists of painting and ceramic works, prepared in cooperation with the Municipality of Kyrenia.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until Friday, June 10, between 10:00 and 17:00 at the Girne Municipality Art Gallery.
