Arkın Creative Arts and Design University (ARUCAD) Head of Photography Department and photographer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Gökçe’s personal exhibition ‘betwixt-between/HIATUS’ was put on display for art lovers with an opening cocktail held at ARUCAD Art Space in Nicosia on Tuesday, June 14th.
Gökçe’s solo exhibition titled ‘betwixt-between/HIATUS’, which deals with the themes of loneliness, time and purgatory, was presented to the audience at Art Space, the event venue of Arkın Creative Arts and Design University in Surlariçi. The use of light, which affects the perception of loneliness, silence and time, is particularly notable in his photographs which have a great cinematographic effect.
Panoramic photographic works are featured in the exhibition, which attracted great interest from art lovers. All of the photographs were taken in Cyprus and he shares feelings such as “being caught in-between, abandonment, and loneliness” with the audience.
The exhibition named ‘betwixt-between/HIATUS’ can be visited at ARUCAD Art Space in Nicosia until 10 August 2022.
