Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMIU), a prestigious state university in Azerbaijan with a century of history, have signed a collaboration protocol. Under this collaboration, exchange programmes will be implemented for students and academics, joint research will be conducted, and students will be offered the opportunity to obtain dual degrees.
ARUCAD and ADMIU, two universities focused on specific fields, have expanded the scope of the collaboration protocol signed four years ago and signed a new protocol. According to the protocol, students studying in the Acting Departments of both universities will have the opportunity to apply for the Student Exchange Programme or the 3+1 Programme in order to obtain dual degrees. The protocol, which also includes Academic Staff Exchange, will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between colleagues of both institutions through congresses, conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops. Students who wish to participate in the Student Exchange Programme can apply after completing at least one academic year at the host institution. Students participating in the “3+1 Programme” can spend their final year at the guest university after completing three academic years at the host university, and if successful, will be eligible for diplomas from both universities.
The Chairman of the ARUCAD Board of Trustees, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Arkın, Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, and Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç visited Azerbaijan as guests of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and implemented the collaboration. Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi signed the protocol on behalf of ARUCAD, while Rector Prof. Dr. Ceyran Mahmudova signed on behalf of ADMIU.
After the signing of the protocol, the ARUCAD Delegation in Azerbaijan paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Ufuk Turganer, the Representative of the TRNC in Baku.
About the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts
The Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts was established in 1923 and is the oldest and most prestigious university in the country. Its aim is to train talented musicians, actors, directors, artists and choreographers, as well as researchers and teachers in art and culture. It has five faculties and twenty-four departments. When it was founded in 1923, it operated under the name of the Theatre Institute. From 1981 to 1991, a series of new disciplines were added to the university curriculum, including painting, sculpture, theatre, film, cultural studies, and the industry of art.
