Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) Theatre Club, in collaboration with the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, presented “The Miser” by the famous French playwright Moliere on the evening of Tuesday, June 20th.
Directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Handan Ergiydiren Doğan, Head of ARUCAD’s Modern Dance Department, and Dr. Güneş Kozal, Head of the Acting Department, the play was written by the renowned French playwright Moliere in the 17th century and translated by Sabahattin Eyüboğlu.
Ergiydiren Doğan oversaw the costume design, while the roles were performed by Ada Güner, Selin Çolak, Yalın Doğasal, Yükselen Deniz, Doğa Arifoğlu, Özer Karanfiller, Ersan Çıkı, Merve Nisa Aygün, and Alihan Güneş.
At the end of the play, Founder of the University, Erbil Arkın, and ARUCAD Rector, Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, presented certificates of appreciation to those involved. In his speech, Erbil Arkın said, “Although the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts has only recently been established, I am extremely happy and proud to see them present their first play with such talent. Congratulations to all of you.”
Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated, “After a lengthy preparation process, the instructors and students of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Theatre Club, delivered a successful performance. I congratulate our instructors, actors, and the entire team.”
The actors’ stage performance received great appreciation from art enthusiasts.
