Rodin Collection Returns to Cyprus

After the exhibition titled “Rodin, the Sculptor of Passion – A Selection from the Private Collection of Erbil Arkın” held at Antalya Culture and Arts (AKS), the Rodin pieces will be once again exhibited to visitors at The Arkın Rodin Collection Gallery in Kyrenia, with effect from Monday, September 5th.

The 22 works by French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917), known as the pioneer of modern sculpture, in the private collection of Cypriot businessman Erbil Arkın, were displayed at the exhibition in Antalya on the occasion of the founding of the 140th anniversary of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO). The exhibition entitled, ‘Rodin – Sculptor of Passion- A Selection from the Private Collection of Erbil Arkın was was curated by Oya Silbery. The exhibition held between 19 May-31 July was visited by many well-known names such as Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı and Yekta Kopan, was organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in cooperation with Arkın University  of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and The Arkın Rodin Collection Gallery.

Within the scope of the opening activities of the exhibition, which is of particular importance because it is only the second Rodin exhibition held in Turkey, the collector, Arkın and the exhibition curator, Oya Silbery, participated in interviews while several activities for children were held.

27 Original Pieces!

The collection, which will be open to visitors at The Arkın Rodin Collection Gallery as of Monday, September 5th, includes 27 original pieces, including Rodin’s world-famous works such as ‘The Kiss’, ‘Eve’, ‘The Falling Man’ and ‘The Age of Bronze’.

The Arkın Rodin Collection, located in Kyrenia, and the largest Rodin Collection in the Eastern Mediterranean, can be visited between 10.00 and 19.00 on weekdays and weekends, starting from September 5, 2022.
