The second book of Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) Publications has been published within the scope of the exhibition titled ‘All the Demons’ by the artist Prof. Dr. Turan Aksoy, faculty member of the Department of Plastic Arts of the university.
The book containing writings that the authors associate with the exhibition has been prepared within the scope of Turan Aksoy’s ‘All the Demons’ exhibition, which opened at Art Rooms Gallery on January 19, and which was published by ARUCAD Publications.
Johann Pillai refers to the difficulties in the interpretation of works of art with his article titled “A Bottle for the Genies of Turan Aksoy”. In her article titled “Painting as a Space for Recall, Interaction or Confession”, Esra Plümer discusses paintings with the meticulousness of an art historian. In her article titled “Demons and Ghosts”, Kumru Eren evaluates Turan Aksoy’s works through situations such as silence and isolation, which the artist particularly emphasises and which wereseen in the artist’s previous exhibitions (“Unsymmetrical” and “Ketum”). In his article titled “Aldanış” (Deception), Cem Selcen focuses on Turan Aksoy’s “Aldanış (Deception) Pictures” series. Gürgenç Korkmazel’s poetic notes written separately for each work in Aksoy’s “Radiant Thing” series are brought together in this book.
The closing of Turan Aksoy’s exhibition “All the Demons” and the book launch will take place on Tuesday, March 28 at 18:00 at Art Rooms Gallery with the participation of authors Esra Plümer, Johann Pillai and Gürgenç Korkmazel.
The exhibition can be visited at Art Rooms Gallery in Kyrenia until March 30.
