Studios
In the Animation Studio at ARUCAD, students learn and experience different animation methods such as 2D, stop motion (single image) and paper cut. In addition, they will be able to participate in the production processes of video clips and short animation films by participating in different projects carried out by the instructors at the university.
With the help of instructors, students can also use the Animation Studio to work on projects and assignments for other related courses.
In the ARUCAD Digital Production Studio, our students are offered the opportunity to produce 2D and / or 3D designs and prototypes with industrial devices such as Laser Cutter, 3D Scanner, 3D Printer, Plotter and Foil Cutter. In the process of producing organic or inorganic designs, students gain experience in the process from the sketching stage to the final product under the supervision of our expert educators.
The Film Studio includes units such as fully equipped film studios, photography studios, sound studio, editing room and backstage/make-up rooms where students can gain practical experience. Students can experience special effects at the film studios with the most advanced GreenBox installation in the region, while observing and learning about the effect of light on photography and video. In addition, ARUCAD provides its students with the latest photography and video cameras and equipment support that they can be used in the studios.
The Photography and Video Studios are designed to enable students not only to go beyond the basic use of skills by making use of the technical possibilities of photography and video, but also to enable them to grasp the quality of photography and video as artistic tools and to show how they can benefit from these tools as an art language. This ensures students will be able to recognise and communicate with different trends that may interest them and thus position themselves in terms of innovative approaches.
The Design Studios consist of different themes, workshops and units where students and group managers can incorporate different perspectives of creativity into design-oriented experimentation and research practice. The interaction of students at different levels in groups on various themes is important.
Students can choose their own projects, topics, research and design methods and link their design-oriented research with other disciplines such as film, animation, photography, creative writing, digital and analog engineering.
Equipped with digital and analogue recording devices and musical instruments, this area includes a soundproofed control room, and recording rooms. It can be used as a masterclass on mixing and production, music and sound recordings, sound designs for film and media, and a music rehearsal area for Sound Arts Design education.
The Art Studio, which is mostly used by the Plastic Arts Department, has been specially designed and illuminated so that students can undertake painting, drawing and free drawing. In addition to live model drawing designs, applications such as oil paint, acrylic and watercolour are also carried out. At the same time, the studio allows workshops to be held, and is a functional place where the theoretical elements of lessons can be processed. The Art Studio has storage areas where students can work during extracurricular times and leave their work in the workshop, as well as desk and easel equipment that can be used by every student. As in all workshops and classrooms, computers, projection equipment and internet access are available in order to project course presentations and assessments.
The Interdisciplinary Studio, where both practical and theoretical courses are carried out, is an area where workshops from different disciplines take place. It is specially designed and illuminated so that students can undertake painting, drawing, free drawing and sound design work. Students may also use the studio in extracurricular hours. The studio has screens and monitors for use in presentations and evaluations.
With the GreenBox Studio located in the Film Studios building, students can experience all the processes behind and in front of the camera in a professional GreenBox installation, while producing projects that support the course content. With the Chorama Keying technique, the green colour is separated from the image and the desired new colour channel is created.
Thanks to the GreenBox installation, which was developed for adding content to videos, students can construct the worlds of their imagination.
It is a practical lesson and rehearsal area where various techniques of Modern and Contemporary Dance will be practiced and taught. It is covered with a professional dance floor, suitable for dancing without shoes or bare feet and movements on the floor, preventing the injuries related with the musculoskeletal system during jumps or rolls; additionally It includes a sound and projection system. In this studio, dance lessons, rehearsals, theoretical lectures and video film screenings can be held.
It is a practical lesson and rehearsal area covered with a floor suitable for movement, with various heights and accessories suitable for all kinds of physical, sonic and expressive studies required by acting and theatre education. Additionally It includes a sound and projection system. In this area, acting education courses, workshops, play rehearsals, as well as theoretical lectures and video film screenings can be held.
The floor of this studio is covered with a raised wooden bed suitable for all kinds of dance and physical work, healthy for jumps and falls, and a mirror hangs on one wall. It has its own dressing room and toilet; and projection system has been placed. In this area, all kinds of physical lessons, workshops and rehearsals related to both dance and acting, as well as theoretical lectures and video film screenings can be held.
This studio, which has a special floor suitable for ballet and Pilates floor studies, has portable ballet bars and Pilates mats. There is a mirrored wall with an installed sound and projection system. In this area, as well as ballet and Pilates classes, workshops, rehearsals, theoretical lectures and film screenings can be held.
