The Faculty of Arts is committed to the enduring values of interdisciplinary liberal arts education; therefore, our vigorous curricula have deep multidisciplinary roots. In the course of addressing emergent challenges and complex artistic issues, we are building a creative bridge across theory, research, and practice drawn from different art disciplines. Our emphasis on diversity, civic engagement, and cultural exchange across disciplines ensures that every student has an opportunity to gain critical skills to lead in the contemporary art world.

The vision of the Faculty of Arts is based on an unbounded art education that prioritises the interdisciplinary concept. As a part of our vision, the education programmes in our departments have been prepared with a multi-disciplinary perspective. Our faculty aims to create a bridge consisting of theory, research and practice in order to address and comprehend new arguments in today’s art environment with innovative teaching programmes. We wholeheartedly believe that the importance we attach to interdisciplinary diversity, civic engagement and cultural exchange will provide all our students with the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to adapt to today’s art environment.
In line with ARUCAD’s institutional mission, the Faculty of Arts aims to establish an interdisciplinary and practice-based academic structure that carries out education, research, and artistic production activities in the field of arts through a holistic approach.
Through an educational model that integrates theoretical knowledge with artistic practice, the Faculty aims to equip students with critical thinking skills, research abilities, the capacity for original production, and professional competencies grounded in ethical values. It adopts as its principle the education of individuals who are able to analyze contemporary art practices, evaluate local and global contexts, and possess lifelong learning skills.
By considering the societal contribution dimension of artistic and academic production, the Faculty adopts as its mission the conduct of activities that support cultural development and are aligned with the principles of sustainability and environmental awareness.
The vision of the Faculty of Arts is to become a faculty that is recognized at national and international levels in the field of arts, distinguished by its high-quality education, research, and artistic production activities, and that effectively implements quality assurance processes.
The Faculty aims to become a reference center in the fields of contemporary art and cultural production through its academic structure that promotes interdisciplinary interaction, its internationalization goals, and its research-oriented approach. It adopts an academic vision that evaluates local cultural values within a universal art perspective, considers societal needs, and contributes to sustainable development.
In this direction, the Faculty aims to adopt an institutional development approach that strengthens collaboration with stakeholders, monitors artistic and academic outputs through measurable quality indicators, and is based on continuous improvement.

Undergraduate Program Qualifications in the Field of Art
- Has knowledge of the historical and cultural dimensions of the relevant fields of Art/Design/Performance.
- Has knowledge of the universal and social impacts and legal consequences of professional practices related to the field, including human rights, cultural diversity, sustainability and environmental issues, public interest, and public service.
- Is aware of occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and various other risks that may arise during the artwork production/performance process and knows the legal rights and responsibilities related to occupational health and safety.
- Closely follows current developments in the field, including developments related to rights, obligations, and copyright issues concerning ideas and works of art.
- Has the ability to transform abstract and concrete concepts used in the field into creative, innovative, and original works.
- Has the ability to use current information technologies (such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, wearable technologies, etc.) and/or application software related to the field.
- Has the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form in at least one foreign language related to the professional field (at the B1 level of the European Language Portfolio).
- Has the ability to develop entrepreneurial and innovative approaches at national and international levels based on the knowledge and experience gained through field applications and acts with this awareness.
- Has the competence to identify, define, interpret, formulate, and solve problems in the field through an analytical and critical approach.
- Has the competence to develop an interdisciplinary approach by taking at least two non-field courses within the curriculum.
- Has the competence to work individually and as a team member and to take responsibility within a team.
- Has the competence to communicate and present issues related to the field visually, verbally, and in written form to both specialists and non-specialists.
