The long-standing collaboration protocol between Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and the SOS Children’s Village Association has been renewed. The protocol was signed by ARUCAD Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, SOS Children’s Village Association Board Chairman Barrister Buğra Akter, National Director Ahmet Akarsu, Fundraising and Public Relations Director Cemil Hafız, ARUCAD Vice Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuran Öze.

The renewed protocol aims to expand the scope of the enduring partnership between ARUCAD and the SOS Children’s Village Association. It is structured to provide sustainable collaboration between the two institutions, with the goal of contributing to the development of children and young people, spreading awareness of social responsibility, and increasing projects that make an impact on society. The protocol includes various initiatives, such as internship opportunities for students, community service projects, and support for projects aimed at reintegrating children into society.
During the signing ceremony, ARUCAD Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated:
“At ARUCAD, we consider it our duty to develop projects that contribute to social benefit. Supporting our students not only academically but also in terms of social responsibility is of great importance to us. We hope this collaboration serves as an example for all parts of society, beyond ARUCAD and SOS Children’s Village Association. I believe this partnership will continue to inspire both institutions.”
SOS Children’s Village Association Board Chairman Barrister Buğra Akter emphasised the unique partnership with ARUCAD, driven by creative arts despite the university lacking departments like pedagogy or psychology. He said:
“Children embody creativity. Through the motivation of ARUCAD students, wonderful projects have emerged. Our partnership dates back three years, and during this time, we have undertaken many meaningful initiatives together. Notably, the animation videos, social media visuals, and banners displayed in six districts during Children’s Rights Week were only part of these efforts. Thanks to this fruitful communication, it feels as though we’ve spread into all the veins of the university.”
“Goodness as Small as a Snowball” Project Promotes Social Benefit
Within the scope of the protocol, ARUCAD students recently developed the “Goodness as Small as a Snowball” project for the SOS Children’s Village Association, showcasing a socially conscious approach. Fundraising and Public Relations Director Cemil Hafız expressed his gratitude, stating:
“This project developed by ARUCAD students has already made a significant difference for our children and young people. We hope to see more projects like this in the future.”
This exemplary collaboration between ARUCAD and the SOS Children’s Village Association raises awareness about the importance of social responsibility projects, solidarity, and mutual assistance within society. The aim is to increase the number of impactful projects between the two organisations.
