Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) has achieved another significant milestone in line with its quality-oriented education vision. The undergraduate programs in Visual Communication Design and New Media and Communication within the Faculty of Communication have been accredited for a period of five years by the Communication Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (ILEDAK).
The evaluation process conducted by ILEDAK—one of the leading accreditation bodies in the field of communication education in Turkey—was completed through self-assessment reports, on-site visits, and comprehensive reviews. The accreditation decisions made by ILEDAK were also approved by the Board of Directors of the Communication Research Association (ILAD).
Accordingly, ARUCAD’s New Media and Communication Undergraduate Program and Visual Communication Design Undergraduate Program have been accredited for five years, valid between March 9, 2026 and March 9, 2031, and have been awarded the ILAD Accreditation Certificate.
ILEDAK aims to evaluate and enhance the quality of communication education programs and to raise standards within the discipline. By promoting a continuous improvement and total quality approach, these processes contribute to the development of highly qualified communication professionals who are well-versed in contemporary communication technologies, while also supporting the sustainability of educational quality in higher education institutions.
With this accreditation, ARUCAD has become one of only two universities in Northern Cyprus accredited by ILEDAK. Having previously certified its international quality standards through the EAQUALS accreditation of its English Preparatory School, ARUCAD has now achieved its first accreditation at the undergraduate program level, further strengthening its commitment to quality.
ARUCAD Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi emphasized the university’s quality-driven approach in his statement regarding the achievement, noting that this success is the result of strong teamwork. Vehbi stated: “I would like to thank our Founder Erbil Arkın and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sinan Arkın, for their strong support and trust in our university. I also extend my gratitude to our Vice Rectors, our Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Nezahat Doğan, our Vice Dean and Quality Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuran Öze, our Head of the New Media and Communication Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Çağdaş Öğüç, our Head of the Visual Communication Design Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Hakan Karahasan, and all our academic and administrative staff who contributed to this process.”
ARUCAD aims to continue similar accreditation processes for its other undergraduate programs in the upcoming period.
