ARUCAD Makes a Winning Start to the European Universities Games with a 3–2 Victory over Imperial College London

The Men’s Table Tennis Team of Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) made a winning start to the European Universities Games Salerno 2026, held in Salerno, Italy, by defeating Imperial College London 3–2 in its opening group match.

Organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the competition brings together university athletes from across Europe. Competing in Group F, ARUCAD is drawn alongside some of Europe’s distinguished higher education institutions: the University of Lausanne from Switzerland, Imperial College London from the United Kingdom and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.

Coached by Babür Mehmet Üstündağ, the ARUCAD Men’s Table Tennis Team is represented by Cemal Kara, Sertaç Savim and Osman Mehmet Sayak.

In its first match of the tournament, ARUCAD faced Imperial College London in a closely contested encounter and secured a 3–2 victory, opening its European Universities Games campaign with an important win.

ARUCAD will face the Azerbaijan Sports Academy in its second Group F match on Saturday, 18 July 2026 at 14.00. The team will then play its final group-stage match against the University of Lausanne on Sunday, 19 July 2026 at 12.00. Both matches will take place at the PalaSele Sports Hall in Salerno.
