Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) continues to strengthen its international academic collaboration network. The university has signed a new Academic Cooperation Agreement with BESIGN The Sustainable Design School, located in Nice, France, which includes student exchange opportunities. This newly established partnership serves as an important academic bridge connecting Europe and the Mediterranean region in the field of sustainable design education.
To date, ARUCAD has collaborated with numerous higher education institutions around the world that specialize in creative arts and design, providing its students and academics with international learning and exchange opportunities. The new agreement with BESIGN further expands educational and practical experiences focused on sustainability, particularly for students in ARUCAD’s Department of Textile and Fashion Design.
Sustainability-Focused Curriculum and Student Exchange
The agreement offers Textile and Fashion Design students the opportunity to experience sustainable fashion and design practices in Europe. Within the scope of the program, ARUCAD students will be able to study at BESIGN in France, while BESIGN students will attend classes at ARUCAD in Northern Cyprus. Participants will be able to take courses at the host institution without paying additional tuition fees, and the credits earned will be transferable to their home universities.
Practice-Based Education Through Professional Projects
The collaboration aims not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to offer real-world experience. By combining BESIGN’s applied courses with ARUCAD’s creative studio and project-based classes, students will have the opportunity to design sustainable products and services. In doing so, they will be able to put into practice environmentally conscious, ethical, and innovative design approaches within the fashion industry.
ARUCAD’s Global Collaborations Continue to Grow
As a boutique university focused on art, design, and communication, ARUCAD continues to prepare its students for the global art and design ecosystem through academic partnerships with creative institutions worldwide. This new agreement with BESIGN enhances ARUCAD’s international visibility, particularly in the field of sustainability-oriented creative education, and provides students with the chance to experience Europe’s innovative design culture firsthand.
