ARUCAD Hosted the Department of Acting Webinar “On International Law and Cinema”

ARUCAD (Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design) hosted the Department of Acting webinar titled “On International Law and Cinema,” welcoming Dr. Cansu Atılgan Pazvantoğlu—an academic specializing in international law, as well as a creative drama educator and writer. The webinar was held online and brought together students interested in the intersection of law, cinema, and interdisciplinary thinking.   During the webinar, Dr. Pazvantoğlu examined the relationship between international law and cinema from an interdisciplinary perspective. She discussed how topics such as human rights, international humanitarian law, cultural heritage, and environmental law can be opened to debate through film, addressing questions of representation, ethics, and narrative frameworks through examples.   Highlighting participatory approaches, Dr. Pazvantoğlu also emphasized how methods such as film analysis, role-playing, and courtroom simulation can contribute to engaging learning environments and deeper discussions within international law education. The webinar continued with an interactive flow shaped by students’ questions and contributions.   To rewatch the webinar, please visit:
