Students from the ARUCAD Visual Communication Design Department visited the Arkin Rodin Collection Gallery on 9 and 10 March 2026. Organized within the scope of the Comm204 and İlet204 courses, the visits took place over two separate days, offering students the opportunity to closely engage with the works of Auguste Rodin. During the visits, students were encouraged to interpret the sculptures not only through historical and technical perspectives, but also through emotion, expression, and human experience.
Following the visit, students were asked to produce a blog post based on their experience. This assignment supported the development of close observation, reflective thinking, and personal interpretation within a real gallery setting. It also helped students strengthen their ability to express visual experience through writing and photography, encouraging more direct, original, and visually aware communication.
A key focus of the visit was the importance of engaging with art from a personal perspective. Students were asked to select the sculpture that affected them most and reflect on why it resonated with them, highlighting how the same artwork can evoke different responses in different viewers. The main takeaway of the visit was that engaging with art is not only about understanding it intellectually, but also about recognizing the personal thoughts and emotions it generates.
