Contemporary dance is approached here as a practice where personal growth and collective action intersect. The session focuses on body awareness, improvisation, and embodied response to social and political realities, exploring how movement can function as a space for dialogue, resistance, and shared experience, particularly within the context of Cyprus.
Sofia Barka is a multidisciplinary Greek artist working across modern dance, choreography, music, theatre, and writing. She holds a master’s degree in Theatre, Dramaturgy, and Performance from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has received awards for choreography and poetry in Greece and has collaborated extensively with artists in Greece and Cyprus.
