As part of the Acting Department activities at Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD), a webinar was held with famous actor and Actors’ Union Executive Board Member Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu as the guest speaker. The event took place on Thursday, 6 November 2025, was conducted via video conference, and streamed live on ARUCAD’s digital platforms. The webinar was moderated by Acting Department Instructor Şafak Ersözlü and held in Turkish.
During the webinar, Üzümoğlu emphasized that acting is not limited to artistic production alone, but is also closely connected to working conditions, professional rights, and collective solidarity. Referring to the mission of the Actors’ Union, he highlighted the importance of organized action, noting that their efforts focus on ensuring that actors can work in safe, equal, and fair conditions, and that meaningful change can only be achieved through collective struggle rather than individual effort.
In the Q&A session with students, Üzümoğlu addressed young actors directly and underlined the importance of using university years effectively. Encouraging students to stay active and productive, he stressed the value of reading, watching, discussing, and creating as much as possible, emphasizing that this period is not only about education, but also about preparing for the professional realities that await after graduation.
The webinar offered students the opportunity to approach the acting profession not only from an artistic perspective, but also through its ethical, legal, and social dimensions. Those who wish to watch the webinar again can access the video via the link below:
