Art

The Arts Masters Programme aims to cultivate artists who can seamlessly blend traditional and contemporary artistic practices utilising a multidisciplinary perspective. The programme equips students with the skills to explore various art forms and develop a unique artistic voice. The curriculum is designed to enhance students’ artistic production while simultaneously fostering a deep understanding and interpretation of art theory and concepts. To achieve this, the programme provides students with a platform to explore the unique theoretical and practical challenges of different disciplines and to respond to them through their own original approaches, generating innovative concepts and artworks. It also cultivates the discipline of employing analysis, synthesis, and interpretation within the artistic creation process.

A primary objective of the programme is to equip students with an innovative and original perspective on contemporary artistic practice. To this end, the programme offers a rich range of studio facilities and theoretical coursework designed to maximise students’ potential.

The programme’s structure supports students’ development from the initial conceptual stages of their artistic practice to the final presentation of their work. It also equips students with the necessary skills to position their work within existing artistic dialogues and debates. The programme is complemented by individual study, creative workshops, collaborative projects, and exhibitions. Moreover, students benefit from critical feedback from renowned artists, theorists, and curators, preparing them for the dynamic and ever-evolving art world.

Our Art Master’s programme has working opportunities in our university’s rich workshop environment.  While grounded in the visual arts, the programme is enriched by a wide range of elective courses that allow students to explore other disciplines, reflecting contemporary multidisciplinary approaches.
