“The Two Faces of the Dramatic Body: Classical Pantomime & Corporeal Mime” Held at ARUCAD

The workshop titled “The Two Faces of the Dramatic Body: Classical Pantomime & Corporeal Mime,” organized by the Department of Acting at Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD), was successfully held. Led by pantomime artist, performer, and instructor Mehmet Selin Sağdıç, the workshop brought acting and contemporary dance students together around core physical performance practices.

Throughout the workshop, the playful narrative structure of classical pantomime and the sculptural, disciplined language of corporeal mime were explored side by side. Students engaged in hands-on exercises to examine how the body functions as a primary expressive medium for thought, emotion, and dramatic structure on stage.

Focusing on body awareness, rhythm, spatial use, and physical dramaturgy, the workshop offered participants an opportunity to expand their physical expression skills and approach performance from a deeper corporeal perspective. The workshop was moderated by Dean of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Prof. Dr. Kerem Karaboğa.
