ARUCAD Prepares to Host an Inspiring Gathering at the Intersection of Medicine and Art

Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) is preparing to host a meaningful event where art and medicine converge. The event, titled "Healing Bowls Dedicated to Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the Healer of a Society," will take place on Friday, March 28, at 2:30 PM at the ARUCAD Conference Hall. It will be open to the public and will be presented by Prof. Dr. Elif Vatanoğlu Lutz, the founder of the Oxytocin Medicine and Art Platform and a faculty member at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Dr. Elif Vatanoğlu Lutz, who conducts multidisciplinary research at the intersection of art and science, develops artistic projects each year under the Oxytocin Medicine and Art Platform in honor of March 14, Medicine Day, dedicated to physicians and all healthcare workers. The 2025 event, organized by ARUCAD, will focus on the theme "Healing Bowls Dedicated to Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the Healer of a Society," and will explore the contributions of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, a significant figure in the Turkish Cypriot independence movement, to public health through art.
This special event will examine the relationship between medical ethics, the healing power of art, and collective memory through an interdisciplinary approach. Dr. Fazıl Küçük’s legacy will be reinterpreted through the language of art, offering a perspective on how medicine and art complement each other. The presentation will shed light on how art integrates with healing and historical memory.
Prof. Dr. Vatanoğlu Lutz, the first Turkish woman to receive the Gusi Peace Prize, known as Asia’s Nobel, will share valuable insights on how medicine, science, and art can come together to transform societies. This event, where medicine and art intersect, will inspire participants and provide an opportunity to explore the impact of art on healthcare.
