“How Drumming Shapes Culture” Session Held at ARUCAD

Gabriel Adams met with students at ARUCAD for the session titled “How Drumming Shapes Culture,” held on 16 December 2025 at BA SIN 01. Drawing on a journey that spans African rhythmic traditions and contemporary music practices, the session focused on the role of rhythm in cultural transformation.

During the session, Adams explored the relationship between rhythm, body, and mind within creative processes, emphasizing how rhythmic structures shape both individual expression and collective cultural experience. Through examples from different musical contexts, he highlighted rhythm as a fundamental expressive force that connects tradition with modern musical languages.

The session concluded with a short practical rhythm activity, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with the concepts discussed and experience rhythm as an embodied practice.
