From Waste to Aesthetics: A Sustainable Production Initiative Across Campus

As part of the From Waste to Aesthetics project developed by students working within the Sustainability Office at Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD), a sustainability-oriented initiative was implemented across the campus. Within the scope of the project, special fabric collection baskets were placed in various campus locations to enable the reuse of textile remnants by Textile and Fashion Design students in their educational and production processes.

The baskets were positioned in the Iris and Age of Bronze buildings, as well as in the library. Fabrics collected from these areas will be reintroduced into students’ creative and educational practices through reuse.

The From Waste to Aesthetics project promotes the circulation of textile waste while strengthening awareness of sustainability, material consciousness, and a culture of sharing within the campus. The initiative aims to establish a sustainable production ecosystem through small-scale yet meaningful interventions.
