Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) has signed an important cooperation protocol with the Chamber of Landscape Architects and the Chamber of Interior Architects operating under the Union of Turkish Cypriot Chambers of Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB), with the aim of strengthening academic and professional collaborations. Within the scope of the protocol hosted by ARUCAD, ARUCAD Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, President of the Chamber of Interior Architects Pembe Komut, and President of the Chamber of Landscape Architects Dr. Gülizar Eroğlu signed the agreement.
The collaboration aims to develop joint education, research, and practice programs in the fields of landscape architecture, interior architecture, urban design, architecture, art, and related disciplines. The protocols also seek to establish a sustainable collaboration environment by enhancing knowledge exchange among students, academic staff, and professionals. The protocol was also attended by ARUCAD Vice Rector for Research and Development Prof. Dr. Burcu Toker and Vice Rector for International Affairs and Social Affairs Dr. İbrahim Dalkılıç. Several board members from the Chamber of Landscape Architects and the Chamber of Interior Architects were also present.
Highlighting the importance of professional chambers in academic development, ARUCAD Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated: “While academic quality and accreditation processes are important for us, we see the real impact of education in practice. Therefore, the insights and guidance of professionals actively working in the field play a decisive role in the development of our educational programs.”
Dr. Gülizar Eroğlu, President of the Chamber of Landscape Architects, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating: “Bringing academia and professional practice together not only enhances success but also ensures that the needs of the country are addressed more effectively. It is very valuable for us that a university recognizes our field and includes us in such a process.”
Within the scope of the signed protocols, the parties will collaborate on organizing exhibitions, biennials, workshops, panels, and forums, as well as jointly planning seminars and symposiums, and delivering professional training and certification programs. In addition, ARUCAD students will be supported in participating in internships, fieldwork, and professional observation activities within the chambers.
The protocols aim to strengthen the connection between education and professional practice through collaborative efforts between ARUCAD and the professional chambers, while fostering a culture of joint production.
