“The Pillowman,” prepared by Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) Acting Department student Yalın Doğasal within the scope of the OYNC402 Graduation Project and Portfolio course, met the audience at Bandabuliya Stage on May 21, 2026.
Written by Martin McDonagh in 2003, the play follows a writer living under a totalitarian regime who is suddenly taken from his home and interrogated by two detectives for reasons unknown to him. Exploring themes such as violence, childhood trauma, and freedom of expression, the production drew attention with its striking atmosphere and stage language.
The production was directed by Yalın Doğasal, while the project was supervised by Acting Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Özgün Can Karaburun. The cast featured Yalın Doğasal, Ekin Duruk, Ömer Dündar, Çağan Türkili, Peri Sualp, and Cenker Çabas.
Music design for the production was created by Baran Sakar and Alp Narinoğlu, while lighting design and implementation were carried out by Metehan Kayan. Sound implementation was realized by Hüseyin Naci, and projection implementation by Beren Çeliker.
Illustrations used in the performance were prepared by Yağmur Doğasal, Cerin Saldun, Dila Oranlı, and Selin Mutlu. Set realization was carried out by Ömür Duruk, while model design and realization were completed by Svetlana Karepina. The poster visual was designed by Nil Kıcır, and graphic design works were conducted by the ARUCAD Corporate Communication Office.
