Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) Department of Textile and Fashion Design hosted the seminar “Fashion in Practice: Experiences, Changes and Creative Pathways” on May 21, 2026.
The seminar explored contemporary fashion practices, evolving production processes within the fashion industry, and changing creative approaches. Throughout the session, discussions focused on the influence of personal experiences on creative production, shifting dynamics within the fashion field, and the transformation of the designer’s role in today’s fashion world.
Designer and ARUCAD master’s graduate Abdullah Öztoprak shared insights from his professional journey and creative practice, presenting examples from his work in fashion production, collection development, and artistic experimentation. Particular emphasis was placed on how personal forms of expression are reflected in fashion production and on the role of experience within creative processes.
The seminar also addressed sustainability in fashion, changes in production habits, and the contemporary position of independent design practices. Participants gained perspectives on fashion production not only as a technical process, but also as a cultural, artistic, and personal form of expression.
The event concluded with a Q&A session.
