The Acting Department of the ARUCAD Faculty of Music and Performing Arts will participate in the 12th Bilkent Theatre Days International Theatre Festival, taking place from 22 to 26 June 2026, with its production Serçe Parmağını Kaşlarında Gezdirmek. The performance will be staged on Thursday, 25 June 2026, at 20:00 on the Main Stage of Bilkent University.
Organized by the Bilkent University Department of Theatre, the festival brings together theatre departments from Türkiye and abroad, providing students with the opportunity to present their end-of-year productions and engage in international artistic exchange. Originally established as a student festival, the event gained an international identity in 2014 and continues to serve as an important meeting point for theatre students from around the world.
The play premiered on 26 March 2026 at Bandabuliya Stage. Serçe Parmağını Kaşlarında Gezdirmek was developed from original dramatic narratives created by senior Acting Department students as part of the Dramatic Narrative Creation course.
Drawing on the works of Franz Kafka, students Yalın Doğasal, Selin Çolak, and Ersan Çıkı each created an original short play inspired by A Report to an Academy, In the Penal Colony, and The Metamorphosis, respectively. These three short plays were further enriched with elements from Kafka's other short narratives, resulting in the final version of the production.
The production is directed by Prof. Dr. Kerem Karaboğa, Dean of the ARUCAD Faculty of Music and Performing Arts. The creative process was further supported by artistic contributions from Assist. Prof. Dr. Pervin Kurçeren, Head of the Department of Fine Arts; Assist. Prof. Dr. Raif Dimilliler, faculty member in the Department of Fine Arts; and Dr. Ataman Kınış, faculty member in the Department of Sound Arts Design.
ARUCAD will be represented at the festival by Prof. Dr. Kerem Karaboğa, Assist. Prof. Dr. Pervin Kurçeren, actors Yalın Doğasal, Ersan Çıkı, and Selin Çolak, as well as technical team members Bünyamin İslamoğlu, Ekin Duruk, and Metehan Kayan.
