The ARUCAD (Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design) Men's Table Tennis Team competed in the European Universities Games Salerno 2026, held in Salerno, Italy, as the champions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), finishing 13th out of 20 universities.
Organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the tournament saw ARUCAD compete in Group F alongside the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), Imperial College London (United Kingdom), and Azerbaijan Sport Academy (Azerbaijan).
Coached by Babür Mehmet Üstündağ, the ARUCAD Men's Table Tennis Team, consisting of Cemal Kara, Sertaç Savim, and Osman Mehmet Sayak, competed against some of Europe's strongest university teams. The team began the tournament with a 3-2 victory over Imperial College London before facing the University of Lausanne and Azerbaijan Sport Academy. Finishing with one win and two defeats, ARUCAD secured 13th place among the 20 participating universities.
The tournament also featured the University of Vienna (Austria), Azerbaijan Sport Academy (Azerbaijan), University of Zagreb (Croatia), University of Jyväskylä (Finland), University of Rennes (France), University of Leipzig (Germany), German Sport University Cologne (Germany), University of Pécs (Hungary), University of Bologna (Italy), University of Salerno (Italy), Queen's University Belfast (Ireland), Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), Zamojski Academy (Poland), University of Porto (Portugal), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), University of Lausanne (Switzerland), İstanbul Aydın University (Türkiye), Imperial College London (United Kingdom), and University College London (United Kingdom), alongside ARUCAD.
Through its participation in international sporting events, ARUCAD continues to represent its students successfully on the international stage in sport. As the TRNC champions, ARUCAD took part in this event alongside universities from across Europe, once again demonstrating its commitment to the all-round development of its students by representing both the university and the country with distinction on the international stage.
