Prof. Dr. Nur Sözen Introduced “Design with Nature” at ARUCAD

At Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design, a webinar titled “Design with Nature” was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with Prof. Dr. Nur Sözen joining students via live online connection. Held at TK CLA05, the session focused on the fundamental principles of ecological design and the role of nature-based approaches in contemporary design practices.

During the seminar, the “Design with Nature” approach, shaped by Ian McHarg’s ecological design principles, was explored in depth. The discussion highlighted how this approach guides sustainable landscape architecture and urban planning today, emphasizing that designing in harmony with nature is not only an aesthetic concern but also an environmental and systemic necessity.

The session also provided insights into how ecological systems can be integrated into design processes and how environmental suitability analysis can be applied in real-world projects. Participants had the opportunity to examine practical examples and gain a deeper understanding of nature-based design thinking.

The webinar offered ARUCAD students both theoretical and practical perspectives on sustainable design, reinforcing the importance of environmentally responsive approaches in architecture and planning disciplines.
