Game Industry Professional Discusses AI and Creative Production

A seminar titled “Insight Talks from a Game Designer in Cyprus – Flamy Fish Studio” was held on April 27 at Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design. Focusing on game development, the event explored current transformations in the gaming industry, creative production processes, and the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on the sector.

The seminar featured Osman Onat Alicik, who shared insights into the local and industry-specific challenges of operating a game company in Cyprus. Particular attention was given to the difficulties small-scale game studios face in gaining international visibility, building sustainable production models, and remaining competitive within the global gaming market.

The seminar also addressed the role of artificial intelligence in game design and production processes. Osman Onat Alicik discussed AI-supported production methods used by Flamy Fish Studio, emphasizing that these tools help accelerate concept development and prototyping processes. While AI was described as a supportive tool for creative teams, the importance of human creativity at the center of the production process was strongly emphasized.

In addition, the seminar highlighted that artificial intelligence should not be viewed as a technology that entirely replaces human labor in creative industries, but rather as a transformative force that reshapes production processes and the ways designers work.
