Presented by the Sound Arts and Design Department, Bandabuliya Modern Ensemble is a mixed ensemble exploring guided improvisation, indeterminacy and modal heterophonic performance. Rather than following a fixed score, the ensemble creates music in real time through structural sections and performance signals, allowing performers to collectively shape the direction of the work.
Led by Dr. Ataman Kınış, the ensemble features Hüseyin Naci Hacıoğulları (bass guitar), Alp Narinoğlu (acoustic guitar), Behiç Anibal (trombone), Doğu Suyolcu (saxophone), Baran Sakar (drums), Artem Dmitriev (cello), Sogand Rabiei Koumleh, Elina Janabergenova, Gizem Devaşan and Abiodun Micheal Ajibola (vocals), as well as Oğuzhan Başkurt, Yaseen Salah Mohamed Haghigh, Arda Akıncı and Mert Can Bayraktar (electronics). The performance will also include sound works by Ratmir Ollabergenov.
